His research interests concentrate on two fields: Wireless Communications and Mobile Systems. In the Wireless Communications field, he is interested in studying micro-cellular systems design with applicability to future wireless ATM-based networks. He and his team were subject matter experts for development of GSM, CDMA and TDMA standards. He was among the first to evolve FPLMTS to UMTS to the 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards in the ITU and TIA. During that period, he has operated a service shop, specializing in the service and repair of motorcycles, all terrain vehicles and snowmobiles. The service shop was closed for business in 2001 to pursue and expand the company's Internet mail order business.  He now owns and operates three mail order and ecommerce websites for ordering "rider" parts and accessories.  Prior to his involvement in the snow sports parts industry, he was an independent contractor in the Logging and Forestry Operations industry from 1982 to 1991.

He is technical director, for The Open Group UK, of the European Commission's Distributed MILS (D-MILS) project, technical director for a new project, CITADEL, to develop dynamic and adaptive MILS systems, and a contributor to the EC ProSEco project (IoT for manufacturing), and the PHANTOM Project (MILS on heterogeneous computing platforms), is active in the leadership of The Open Group's Real-Time and Embedded Systems Forum,chairman of the MILS API Working Group, a delegate to the International Standards Organization's SC27 (Security Techniques) Working Group 3 (security evaluation), organizer of the first Common Criteria Forum Workshop, and eight-time organizer of the Layered Assurance Workshop (LAW).  He currently participates in the Common Criteria User’s Forum, and has contributed to the Common Criteria technical communities developing the Operating System Protection Profile, the Mobile Device Protection Profile, and the Server Virtualization Protection Profile.  He also developed the MILS Network System PP,and the MILS Platform PP.

This expert witness has provided consulting services to industrial, municipal, and institutional organizations in the field of water treatment for more than twenty five years as a senior consulting engineer, technical service engineer and project manager, responsible for overseeing the services provided by the entire national field organization to the company's major clients. He studied computer systems, analog design, and high voltage pulsed-power at the University of Michigan graduate school.  He went on to teach at the university level and consult at National Labs and various companies.  His projects included an analog system to control the bombardment heating system of a large-cathode electron gun, a 12 V to 1000 V, 300 W portable pulse generator,  an electric race car that could achieve a top speed of 120 MPH, 1.5 kW photovoltaic battery chargers, and modeling and design of hybrid-electric vehicles.  Currently, he is a professor at Rose-Hulman Institute of technology where he is developing new courses on Model-Based-Design and using automatic code generation to design microcontroller systems.  He has two patents on battery chargers for photovoltaic systems and has served as an expert witness in cases involving analog systems, simulation, and battery chargers.

This Ph.D is currently the Chairperson of the Electronics, Computer, and Information Technology Department at a major University.  He has more than 15 years of experience with design of digital systems using VHDL and Verilog.  His current research interests are in the general area of reconfigurable computing.  Current research focuses on the development of a suite of software tools that allow scientists to benefit from the potential order of magnitude speedup in execution time offered by reconfigurable computers over typical desktop computers.  These tools significantly reduce algorithm development time by transforming C/C++ programs into an assembly language program that can be executed directly on a reconfigurable computer that implements an Application Specific Digital Signal Processor.  A major project in this research program involves the development of a remote reconfigurable hardware resource allocation system for executing algorithms from a remote site on the reconfigurable computer available in the laboratory.  He has also conducted research in the area of technology based curriculum development, distance education, and VLSI design for testability. 

This Ph.D. has taught courses on digital system design, ASIC design, microprocessor system applications, FPGA-based system design, and VLSI design for testability (using VHDL).  He has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed conferences/journals.  He has also developed several CAD tools which are part of the MCNC OASIS (Open Architecture Silicon Implementation Software) system.  He has served on the program committee and as a session chair for several International conferences.  He received a best paper and best presentation award for a paper presented at the International Conference on Computer Design and has received numerous fellowships and national awards.  He holds one US patent and led the effort to establish a new BS degree program in Computer Engineering at a major University.

This Ph.D is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Head of the Biothermal Technology Laboratory at a major University. His research is in the area of thermal sciences, with an emphasis on biomedical engineering. One of the thrust research areas at the Biothermal Technology Laboratory is cryosurgery, which is the destruction of undesired biological tissues by freezing. In order to gain better control over the cryoprocedure-thereby improving the outcome of the cryotreatment he has developed both devices and techniques for cryosurgery. He is currently leading an interdisciplinary research team focusing on improving the outcome of cryosurgery, where recent efforts are directed towards computerized planning of the cryoprocedure and computer-based training of the cryosurgeon.

He has developed a new area of research, combining mathematical modeling and experimental investigation of physical properties in cryogenic temperatures, in order to quantify the effects of thermo-mechanical stress resulting from freezing. Thermo-mechanical stress is one of the key effects in tissue injury, which is associated with both cryosurgery and cryopreservation. When the stress level becomes too high, structural damage occurs in the tissue at various levels, with fracture formation a frequently observed outcome. In cryosurgery, fracture formation may lead to excessive bleeding to the thermally-treated tissue, which may result in clinical complications. In cryopreservation, fracture formation may prevent the preserved tissue from recovering. In either application, fracture can develop at the micro and/or the macro levels.  He is leading an interdisciplinary research team, including experts from the fields of solid mechanics and cryobiology, to develop new models to describe thermal stress in glass-forming biomaterials, where glass formation ( also known as "vitrification" ) is an emerging alternative to classical cryopreservation.
