This Ph.D has nearly fifteen years of academic experience with research focus on transport phenomena, including heat, mass, and radiation transfer in materials processing, power generation, cryogenics, catalysis and reaction engineering, chemical sensors, and atomic force microscopy ( AFM )-based multifunctional scanning probes for biological interfaces. His research includes experimental and theoretical components in developing innovative design solutions for the engineering systems whose optimal operation and enhanced functionality require fundamental understanding of thermal/fluid sciences.  Applications of his research range from fuel cells and power generation to portable water and air disinfection devices to thermal management of electronics to chemical sensors and bio-analytical instrumentation.

He has authored and co-authored over eighty technical articles published in the major archival journals and refereed conference proceedings. His research has also resulted in twenty five patent applications and invention disclosures, primarily in the area of chemical microreactors, micro fuel cells, and bioanalytical instrumentation.
