This Ph.D is the Chair of Optical Data Storage at a major University. A Fellow of the Optical Society of America, he is the author of a number of books in the field of optics.

He has published over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented numerous invited talks at international conferences, universities, and major industrial laboratories. His research interests include magnetic, optical, and molecular data storage, near-field optics, and problems associated with radiation pressure.
