This expert witness is a professional engineer with over 25 years experience in cable, satellite, cryptographic technology, business management, project and technical product management.  He is a major contributor or author of numerous technology standards in the area of broadcast and cable TV, in particular SCTE-DVS, ATSC, DAViC, and OpenCable.  He has also received several patents in the area of display technology, cable set-top technology and digital cable multiplexing technology.

He served as the Chief Executive Officer for ConFocus Technologies, Inc. where he was responsible for strategic direction, oversight of business development activities and consulting.  ConFocus develops digital video and digital television software products and services.  Before founding ConFocus, he founded a consulting firm specializing in Digital TV and Cable technologies.  He has also held various engineering research, development and management positions as well as directing the development of high volume Digital and advanced analog set-top box products and systems.
