This Ph.D. has over 20 years of experience in designing and developing medical device to clinical problems.  He has extensive experience as a surgeon having performed ENT, Obstetrics, Gynecology & Neuro surgeries, head and neck surgeries and assisted in neurosurgeries.  He practiced surgery and medicine for eight years, before getting inspired to complete his Master’s& Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the IIT.  His post-doctoral research at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor is in Nephrology, Artificial Organs and Blood when he developed, evaluated and tested a stem cell-based Artificial Kidney Device and worked on a de-heparinization and blood device that can be used in Cardiac surgeries.

He teaches courses titled Medical Device Design & Development, Human Physiology in Health & Disease, Overview of the Medical Device Industry and Medical Devices - the Basics & the Business, Cardio-Pulmonary Pathophysiology and Devices for University of California extensions atBerkeley, Santa Cruz & Irvine.  He is also a medical device adviser and consultant.
