Professional Summary: This PhD is a full Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at a top research university, and has served as an expert witness and consultant in several leading Intellectual Property and Patent Litigation cases ( both ITC 337 proceedings and Federal Circuit ) in the past five years. He has reviewed and analyzed software and hardware designs through source code analysis for pre/post-litigation phases and testified at trial several times. He leads several large technology research programs in the areas of telecommunications, wireless, multimedia, networking, software and speech, video and graphics technologies at a major university and has authored several textbooks in these fields. He recently received the Frederick E Terman Medal from the American Society of Engineering Education ( ASEE ) for his contributions to Electrical and Computer Engineering, and is a Fellow of the IEEE. He has served as consultant to MIT Lincoln Labs and John Hopkins Applied Physics Labs on programs related to Software, Computer Architectures and Wireless Networks. He has also founded two companies, offering products in the areas of semiconductor ICs, and software for multimedia and wireless applications, respectively. He has developed software for a leading cell phone handset provider and also developed software products for a leading VOIP infrastructure provider. He has authored or co-authored several books on VLSI, Digital Signal Processors, ASIC Design, System on Chip Design, and has served as an Editor or Guest Editor of several IEEE magazines and journals.
