This expert witness received his Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering in 1991. He then joined the Faculty of the City University of New York where he is now a Professor. During his tenure at CUNY he supervised 9 Ph.D. dissertations covering wide varieties of topics from wireless networks to IP optical networks. He is the authors and co-author of more than 100 scientific papers and articles published in prestigious journals and conferences. He is a well known expert in the areas of architecture design and traffic engineering in IP based networks. He was a chairman or co-chairman of many scientific sessions, symposia and conferences. He was a Guest Editor of various special issues in prestigious journals such as the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. His research has been funded by agencies such as NSF, DARPA, ARO, as well as US SPRINT and NORTEL Networks. His industrial experience includes AT and T and Telcordia Applied Research Labs.  His technical expertise includes areas such as Architecture design of IP optical networks; Designing quality of service management and allocation of resource mechanisms in WLANs, WiMax, and 3G wireless networks; Cost analysis, evaluation of Operations Support Systems ( OSSs ), GMPLS control plane for telecommunications carriers and vendors; and Development of a QoS migration strategy for AT and TIP / DWDM network.
