This Ph.D has over 20years experience as an industry expert in the field of Optics. He has served as an expert witness and consultant for patent infringement cases. As an inventor and co-inventor on over 42 issued patents, he also has extensive experience in the prosecution of patents and the management of intellectual property.

His research includes improving the performance of optical imaging systems by modeling and measuring the coherence properties of light returned from objects of interest and adjacent objects not of interest. Applications for this research include biomedical imaging, material science, and remote sensing; optical design, optical fabrication, optical design using anisotropic optical materials, tolerancing of optical systems, and optical design for manufacturing. His teaching interests are in the area of optical system analysis and optical engineering, and offers courses on Aberrations, Interferometry, Optical Testing, and Optical Laboratory course.
