This Ph.D. has over twenty years of experience in the field of electrical and computer engineering.  His areas of expertise include signal ( voice / image / video ) processing, communication systems, microprocessor systems, electric circuits, data acquisition systems, biomedical instrumentation, and software development.  He is a faculty member in a major University and is the Director of Graduate Studies for the department.  In addition to more than 70 publications in the field, he has been very active in professional activities as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ( IEEE ) Signal Processing Society.  He is currently serving as a member of the IEEE-SPS Image and Multidimensional Digital Signal Processing Technical Committee.  He has served as General Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, as well as General Chair of SSMSD, General Chair of SSIAI, and Vice Chair of SSIAI, in addition to positions on numerous other professional committees.  He has also been Associate Editor of the journal, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.
